We're looking for a Graphic Designer to support us in creating eye-catching collateral that promotes our events and celebrates the story of the Barn. Your designs will support community engagement and help us share the Barn with new audiences.
What difference will you make?
Your work will directly shape how we connect with the public and share the story of this extraordinary 14th-century building. By creating visually engaging collateral, you’ll help make our heritage events more accessible and appealing to a wide audience; from local families to history enthusiasts and tourists. Your designs will empower our volunteer team to promote activities more effectively, increasing attendance, boosting community engagement, and supporting the long-term sustainability of the Barn as a cultural and educational venue. Whether it's a seasonal events guide or a simple poster for a craft workshop, your creative input will help bring the barn to life for thousands of visitors each year. Ultimately, your contribution will help the Winterbourne Medieval Barn Trust preserve and celebrate a rare medieval landmark by ensuring it remains a vibrant, well-used community resource; not just a building, but a place where history is lived and shared.
What are we looking for?
Key responsibilities Create and refine design templates for volunteers to use on social media (Canva or equivalent). Design eye-catching posters and flyers for print distribution and digital promotion for key events (e.g., Winterbourne Medieval Day). Work on annual design projects such as our events brochure, seasonal guides, or banners. Help refresh and maintain brand guidelines (fonts, colours, layouts, logo use, etc.). Provide occasional ad hoc design support for one-off campaigns, signage, or event materials. What we’re looking for Strong graphic design skills and a creative eye for layout, typography, and visual storytelling. Ability to work from a brief and collaborate with staff and other volunteers. Interest in arts, culture, or heritage is a bonus, but not essential.
What will you be doing?
We’re looking for a volunteer to support our visual identity and improve how we communicate with the public. This role is perfect for someone looking to contribute creatively to a community heritage setting. This is largely a project-based volunteer role with flexible commitment, working with fellow volunteers. There will be no need to visit the Barn regularly, but it’s pretty great, so you’ll want to.
