We are looking for a Designer to write, review, and validate prompt-based questions designed to train AI.

Your expertise in visual systems, user experiences, or creative strategy will ensure each prompt and response reflects real-world design process thinking, visual literacy, and communication clarity. You’ll help shape how AI understands and simulates multi-modal design workflows across industries—from education and retail to architecture, tech, or culture.

You are a good fit if you:

  • Have over 1+ years of experience in specialized field such as instructional design, exhibit design, service design, environmental design, or experience design
  • Have a bachelor's degree in design, architecture, education, industrial design, interaction design, or a related field
  • Are currently based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK or the Australia.
  • Have a strong background in creating high-quality visual designs (websites/apps, brand/marketing assets).
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have strong attention to details
  • Exposure working with LLMs and GenAI prompting.

Role Highlights

  • Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.
  • Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your own schedule.
  • Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.

Role Start Date

  • This role will begin in early to mid-August with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Interview Process

  • You will take an AI interview where you will be asked questions about your background in creative workflows, user experience planning, and systemic design thinking
  • You will share your screen and write a detailed prompt to generate an AI response about a design scenario.
  • You will evaluate and compare LLM outputs to determine which response is more effective and accurate.
  • Applicants will be selected based on their performance in the AI interview and on the accuracy and quality of their evaluations.

Compensation and Legal Details

  • You will be legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor
  • We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect
