We are seeking a senior, multidisciplinary graphic designer and art director to join and help lead our creative team. As one of the lead brand designers, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing a wide range of design projects, primarily brand design systems as well as other UX/UI, print, events, paid media, presentations, and everyday production needs for our B2B and B2G clients.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with executive creative director, other senior designers, supporting designers, animators, and project managers to create cohesive and compelling visual solutions.
If you are a proactive, creative thinker with a self-sufficient art direction, sharp technical skillset, and a client-facing confidence, we would love to hear from you.
*A portfolio link is required to be considered for this position—submitting only a résumé is not sufficient.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the creation and implementation of branding systems from concept to completion, including logo design, color palette, font/typography, imagery research and treatments, core graphic element ideation and implementation, and patterns.
- Present bold, compelling ideas to leadership teams and internal stakeholders with confidence and clarity.
- Articulately present compelling visual concepts to clients, and champion those ideas internally until they’re ready for showtime.
- Collaborating on the design of UX/UI systems for websites and mobile applications, ensuring a user experience that is as strategic as it is stunning.
- Daily peer-review and junior designer mentorship to help build the entire team a bit stronger every single project.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices to continually enhance your skills and our portfolio.
Requirements:
- Portfolio demonstrating that you are a visionary designer with a total understanding of brand strategy and graphic design principles (composition, color theory, typography, visual hierarchy, etc.) and sophisticated art direction across a wide range of visual mediums - preferably within the technology sector.
- At least some existing professional experience, ideally at an agency, but ready to consider any great portfolio regardless of previous experience.
- Fluent in the Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, XD). Bonus points for 3D (Cinema4D, Unreal, Blender, or other) for specific brand key art design as well as generative AI tools for conceptual pre-vis and early state ideation.
- Candidates must be comfortable joining (not necessarily presenting) client presentations in order to help advocate for the best work alongside the account team.
- Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, often with same-day/week turnaround time.
- While Bluetext has an office in Washington, DC, this is a full-time, remote role with flexibility to work from anywhere. However, candidates must be available during EST time zone for team and client collaboration.
