About Yarno

We’re a learning tech company helping teams do better work through better training. Our bite-sized campaigns blend quiz-based learning with engaging videos and multimedia to drive real behaviour change.

About the role

We’re looking for a creative and collaborative Learning Designer to craft high-impact learning experiences for our customers. In this role, you’ll combine sharp writing, smart design and strategic thinking to help people learn better. You’ll collaborate with our customers to gather insights into their workplace, then distil complex information into clear, concise text that makes learning stick.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Writing impactful learning content that translates complex topics into Yarno’s multiple-choice quiz format
  • Designing media assets such as videos and images that enhance the learner experience
  • Engaging with new technologies, using tools like Yarno AI (our own generative AI writing assistant) to streamline your workflow and maintain high-quality output
  • Managing projects and stakeholders to keep content development running smoothly and deliver a great customer experience
  • Working on ad-hoc writing tasks such as blog posts, articles, marketing emails and website copy
  • Supporting team development by sharing feedback and contributing to internal R&D, learning and strategy

Your skills and experience

You’re a great fit for this role if you:

  • Write with clarity and confidence, creating content that’s engaging, accurate and easy to understand
  • Pick up new topics quickly, researching and distilling information into meaningful learning
  • Work well both independently and with others, knowing when to lead and when to collaborate
  • Embrace new tools and technologies, like AI, to enhance your workflow without sacrificing quality
  • Communicate clearly and proactively, especially across digital platforms like Zoom, Slack and Asana
  • Stay creative and adaptable, always open to feedback, fresh ideas and continuous improvement

You might have experience as a learning designer, content writer, copywriter or instructional designer. Maybe you’ve worked in L&D, education, communications or a fast-paced content role in tech or an agency. You might also have experience with learning design or video production, or you're keen to learn.

Perks and benefits

We know every company says it, but Yarno’s genuinely a great place to work. We’re a small business that values learning, growth and self-development, and we’ve built a culture that supports honest feedback, collaboration and taking on new challenges together. In 2025, we were proud to be named a Breakthrough Culture Award winner as one of Australia’s Most Loved Companies to Work For.

Here are just a few of the benefits you’ll enjoy at Yarno:

  • Work remotely from anywhere in Australia (East Coast hours)
  • Flexible hours, with both full-time and part-time options to suit your lifestyle
  • $500 annual learning allowance to invest in your skills and development
  • $500 one-off budget to help you set up your home office
  • Six wellbeing days and two doona days each year to support your mental health and self-care
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offering free, confidential support for your mental wellbeing
  • Regular company offsites, catch-ups and celebrations throughout the year

For this role, the salary range is up to $90,000 plus super at full-time, depending on your experience.

Please note, you must have the right to work in Australia to be considered.
