About the Client

This client is a hospitality technology startup on a mission to reinvent the hotel guest experience. They are building a mobile-first platform from the ground up. The MVP is a mobile-first platform built for hotel guests and hospitality staff. The scope includes:

  • Guest-facing app with real-time concierge services
  • AI-powered backend features (LLM, RAG, middleware)
  • Integration with property management and POS systems
  • Clean, scalable full stack architecture for future feature growth

This is a unique opportunity to help define the foundation of a modern SaaS product in a high-impact vertical.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to help architect and deliver the MVP. This is a contractor role for an experienced engineer who thrives in startup environments, values clean and scalable architecture, and can collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You’ll work closely with our Product Manager and AI/ML engineers to bring an intelligent, mobile-first platform to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable frontend and backend systems using React, Node.js, and Next.js
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager to translate product requirements into high-quality technical solutions
  • Build RESTful and GraphQL APIs and work with AI engineers to connect backend services to LLM components
  • Develop middleware for integrating third-party platforms (e.g., hotel PMS and POS systems like Oracle OPERA, Mews, Micros)
  • Ensure mobile-first responsiveness and performance across modern browsers and devices
  • Implement secure, multi-tenant architecture from day one
  • Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and system design discussions

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in full stack web development
  • Deep proficiency in React, Node.js, Next.js, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript tooling
  • Solid understanding of API architecture (REST/GraphQL) and secure backend development
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Familiarity with authentication, RBAC, and session management in multi-tenant SaaS systems
  • Strong database experience (SQL or NoSQL) and data modeling skills
  • A collaborative, startup-oriented mindset and attention to product details
  • Clear communication in English and ability to work in EST-friendly hours

Bonus Skills

  • Experience in hospitality tech or integrations with PMS (e.g., Oracle OPERA, Mews) or POS (e.g., Micros) systems
  • Exposure to mobile-first development patterns or progressive web apps ( PWAs)
  • Familiarity with LLM and AI-driven UI features
  • DevOps skills (CI/CD pipelines, containerization, observability)
  • lExperience in building MVPs or rapid prototyping in lean environment
