UI/UX Designer - Visual Experience & Design Systems

Hybrid (3 days remote), Toronto, Canada

Experience: 5+ Years

Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to join our engineering team working on a project with a Fortune 500 product company. This role focuses on delivering high-quality visual design and scalable UI systems across enterprise visualization tools, including a large-scale 3D model viewer platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the creation of scalable, reusable UI patterns aligned with an enterprise-grade design system
  • Deliver intuitive, elegant visual interfaces across layout, typography, and microinteractions
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and product managers to shape scalable design solutions
  • Translate complex ideas into high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and production-ready UI assets
  • Present design work clearly and effectively to stakeholders and global teams
  • Contribute to a global design community and uphold visual excellence standards

Must-Have Skills

  • Proficient in design systems and reusable UI component libraries
  • Strong grasp of typography, color theory, visual hierarchy, and Gestalt principles
  • Experience visualizing and prototyping across multiple fidelities (sketches to pixel-perfect designs)
  • Confidently presenting designs and rationale to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Hands-on with industry tools for mockups, prototyping, and visual design

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with interaction design techniques (wireframes, user flows, rapid prototyping)
  • Experience applying animation or motion design principles
  • Exposure to architecture, engineering, or design software environments
  • Interest in AI-driven UX and emerging interaction models
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity in fast-paced, iterative environments
