About the Role
Starlight’s Social Media Executive collaborates with teams across the organisation to deliver engaging content and campaigns to influence, inspire & cultivate support for Starlight.
Stories are at the heart of our communications at Starlight, and our well-established social channels often ‘lead the way’ in sharing powerful stories that communicate our impact & generate support.
Our Social Media Executive will be part of an award-winning Marcomms team. We’re a ‘full service’ in-house creative team that includes design, copywriting, production, PR & digital. This dynamic role collaborates with Starlight stakeholders nationally, to deliver a creative vision and roll out social media communications for Starlight’s full suite of projects, events, and campaigns. This role offers remote & in-office work options (within proximity to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth hubs with access to a major Children's Hospital on a a minimum monthly basis)

- You’re a creative thinker & storyteller, developing our ‘next gen’ social content to support growth & conversion goals & take our channels to the ‘next level’
- You champion a collaborative approach to social media activities (paid & organic), ensuring all teams feel included, heard and supported in achieving their goals
- You ensure all activities are ‘on-brand’ & reflect our brand personality and values
- You manage a master ‘brand channels’ content calendar to support key campaigns, events, partners & bespoke opportunities
- You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty writing & preparing content (visual/written). You also work with copywriters, content editors & coordinators
- You’re experienced in community management and can oversee its delivery
- You’re creative, but also smart with data & outcomes driven
- You’ll have an incredible opportunity to share inspiring Starlight stories & see our program delivery firsthand, being part of Wishes, media events & events in our Starlight Express Rooms
- You’re familiar with industry leading tools such as Sprout and Meta Business Suite
About You
You’re a storyteller by nature, creating communications that move people who will thrive in this role if :
- You’re a great communicator with an ability to manage stakeholder’s expectations & keep them in the loop
- You think creatively and ‘out of the box’ with an ability to deliver content solutions that meet the organisation’s needs & briefs
- You’re happy being ‘hands on’ & can create & repurpose content in new & exciting ways
- You’re a savvy project manager with the ability to influence, manage multiple projects in competing timelines and priorities
- You’re adaptable with a ‘can-do’ workstyle, and easily keep up with changing priorities & opportunities
- You live & breathe social media - it’s your passion. You’re on top of trends, best practices. People look to you as an expert & you’re well connected in the area
- You have experience in a Social Media focused role in an agency, NFP or commercial environment
