Immediate Need: USA Senior Visual Designer/Design-System Production & Hi-Fi Execution

July 8, 2025
Full-time
Remote · Torreon Metropolitan Area
Mid-Senior level
Designer

Job Description

Project Snapshot

Our e-learning platform already has a robust Figma design system (tokens, foundations, core components, Zeroheight docs, and Storybook integration). Your mission is to move fast in production:

  • Compose pixel-perfect screens and interactive prototypes with the existing library.
  • Add or refine components/variants when the UX team specs new patterns. Keep the library healthy—naming, documentation, and token integrity—so devs pull designs to code in

Key Outcomes (Rolling 2-week cycles)

Outcome and KPIs

  • Screens & flows shipped

≥ 12 net-new responsive pages per sprint, 0 blocker comments from dev QA

  • Component extensions

< 48 h turnaround from UX spec to publish; passes auto-layout & variant audits

  • Library hygiene

100 % components linked to tokens; Zeroheight section updated within 24 h of change

Responsibilities

  • Rapid Production – Assemble high-fidelity desktop & mobile pages using auto-layout and variant-driven components.
  • Component Iteration – Create new component states, add props/variants, and update token links while retaining existing naming conventions.
  • Interactive Prototypes – Build click-through flows for stakeholder reviews and usability tests.
  • Library Maintenance – Run periodic audits for broken instances, detached components, and WCAG AA contrast regressions; fix on the fly.
  • Documentation Touch-ups – Add screenshots, usage notes, and “dos/don’ts” in Zeroheight / Figma README as changes ship.
  • Collaboration – Pair with our UX Designer (strategy & IA) and React engineers (MUI v6 + Storybook) in short, async cycles.

Must-Have Expertise

  • 5+ years visual/UI design with 2+ years maintaining a production Figma design system (not just creating one).
  • Figma power-user: Auto-layout 4.0, component properties, interactive components, variables/tokens.
  • Proven record of extending an existing design library—share a before/after or changelog link.
  • Familiar with Storybook or Zeroheight bi-directional workflows.
  • Strong grasp of WCAG 2.1 AA and Baymard e-commerce heuristics.
  • Able to deliver polished, responsive mock-ups fast (think hours, not days).

Nice-to-Have

  • Tokens Studio experience for token upkeep.
  • Multi-brand or dark-mode theming know-how.
  • Basic Git workflow familiarity (pull requests for tokens.json or Storybook MDX).
