Full Stack Developer

Job Summary: 

VITALL is looking to add to its growing and accomplished development team. The successful candidate will be a Full Stack Developer who is passionate about making health information meaningful. The Full Stack Developer will participate in the design, creation, and improvement of scalable software. They will be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment. The Full Stack Developer should be comfortable with both front-end and backend languages, frameworks, libraries, and workflows, including both web and native apps.  The overall objective of this role is to ensure the alignment of design and user experience requirements with application functionality through writing clean, functional front and backend code.

You are a team player and contributor to technology decisions and architecture, and can balance day-to-day workload, with an eye for future improvements of your team and their work. You will be working as part of a group of developers who help each other solve problems across all functions. You will employ best practices in development, security, accessibility and design to achieve the highest quality of service for our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design of scalable software platforms with performance and security in mind
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging
• Gather and address technical and design requirements
• Work with team members to collaboratively define the roadmap for features and tools
• Design and build client-side and server-side architecture
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
• Write effective APIs
• Create security and data protection settings
• Clearly communicate with the team through our productivity tools (Slack, Jira, GitHub, etc …)
• Practice test-driven development
• Analyze and troubleshoot production issues in a timely fashion
• Contribute to documentation, functional specifications, design documents and architecture diagrams
• Maintain strict confidentiality of records, client information, and company information
• Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
• Participate in regular privacy and security training
• Adherence to company policies, following all privacy and security protocols
• Other job-related duties may be assigned as required

Qualifications: Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Software engineering or equivalent
• 2-5 years experience as a Full Stack Developer
• Knowledge of multiple front end languages and libraries (Typescript, React)
• Knowledge of multiple backend languages and frameworks (Python, GraphQL, Node.js)
• Familiarity with databases and cloud infrastructure (SQL, Postgresql, DynamoDB, AWS)
• Experience with React Native
• Experience developing desktop and mobile applications
• Experience working in an Agile Development environment with continuous integrations/continuous deployment environments
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Proven history of excelling in a team-based, collaborative environment

Preferred:

• Experience in the Health Technology Industry
• Working knowledge of HL7 and FHIR
• Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and data privacy regulations, including audits (SOC2, TRA, Penetration Tests, etc)
• Previous experience in a startup or high-growth company
