Freelance Graphic Designer

ABOUT THE ROLE

A freelance magazine designer is needed to layout and edit the Birds of Uganda Magazine, a personal project featuring curated articles and photographs. All core content, including text and images, will be provided in advance. The primary responsibility is to arrange this material into a visually appealing and cohesive magazine format. While no reference style is currently available, responsive collaboration and feedback will guide the design process. This is a remote, contract-based role with a final delivery deadline set for October 2025.

Requirements

• Proven experience in magazine or editorial layout design
• Strong portfolio demonstrating skill in content arrangement and visual storytelling
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or equivalent publishing software
• Ability to maintain clear alignment, consistent styling, and an attractive visual structure
• Excellent communication skills and openness to iterative feedback
• Ability to deliver high-quality, print-ready files by the specified deadline
• Remote availability with reliable responsiveness during the design process
