CAD / CNC Programmer

Location: Remote

Company: Confidential

Reports to: Head of Design & Production

Start Date: ASAP

About The Opportunity

We’re hiring a skilled and creative CAD / CNC Programmer to support our premium custom wood door manufacturing company. You’ll work closely with clients, designers, and production staff to bring bespoke door designs to life—from concept to CNC-ready files.

This role blends architectural visualization, client communication, and technical programming, giving you the chance to contribute to beautiful, one-of-a-kind projects while working remotely with a highly collaborative team.

If you’re a proactive designer-programmer who thrives at the intersection of creativity and precision, this is your ideal role.

What You’ll Do

🧑‍🎨 Client-Facing Design & Consultation

  • Conduct virtual design consultations via Zoom with high-end clients, architects, or builders
  • Understand functional needs and aesthetic preferences for custom door projects
  • Produce detailed CAD drawings and visual renderings to match client expectations
  • Create photo-based mockups, overlaying door designs on customer-supplied images of homes or buildings

🛠 CNC Programming & Production Handoff

  • Translate approved designs into CNC-ready files (e.g., G-code, DXF, or other production formats)
  • Collaborate with the production and fabrication team to ensure feasibility and manufacturing accuracy
  • Maintain detailed version control and a clear revision history throughout the design-to-build process
  • Optimize CNC layouts for material efficiency, machining speed, and finish quality

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience with CAD software and CNC programming in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Strong background in mechanical design, industrial design, architecture, or woodworking
  • Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Rhino, SolidWorks, or similar CAD/CAM systems
  • Ability to interpret customer needs and translate them into elegant, manufacturable designs
  • Excellent visual presentation and communication skills in English—client-facing professionalism is key
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM) principles, especially for wood and custom builds
  • Based in Latin America with availability for partial U.S. business hour overlap

Bonus Points

  • Experience working with U.S.-based clients or luxury/custom product lines
  • Familiarity with wood joinery, panel construction, and door hardware standards
  • Experience generating files for multi-axis CNC machines
  • Understanding of 3D rendering or photorealistic visualization tools (e.g., Enscape, KeyShot)
  • Ability to assist in developing a digital catalog or reusable design templates
