Video Animator and Designer
About the Role
We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented Video Animator and Designer to help us bring our brand to life through compelling visual content. You’ll be responsible for creating engaging product explainer videos, short-form social content, onboarding animations, and visual assets that align with the Trumpet brand. This is a highly collaborative role, ideal for someone who can take ideas from concept to polished execution — with a strong eye for modern design and a passion for visual storytelling.
You’ll work closely with our marketing and product teams to create visual experiences that resonate with sales teams, clients, and prospects alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality animations and videos to showcase product features, use cases, customer stories, and brand messages.
- Design motion graphics and transitions for use across product tutorials, landing pages, and social platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing and design teams to develop on-brand visual assets for campaigns, ads, and promotional materials.
- Support the creation of micro-interactions and UI animations that enhance the digital experience.
- Work from creative briefs and storyboards — and contribute your own ideas where you see room to elevate the content.
- Optimize videos for web and mobile platforms (MP4, WebM, GIFs) and ensure seamless performance.
- Stay current on design, video, and animation trends in the SaaS and sales tech space.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in video production, animation, or motion design
- Proficient in tools such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma (or equivalent)
- Strong storytelling skills with a knack for simplifying complex ideas into visual content
- A sharp eye for typography, layout, and color — with the ability to adapt to a brand style guide
- Experience working on product explainers, SaaS demos, onboarding videos, or micro-content for web
- Portfolio of animation and design work is a must
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with the SaaS, sales enablement, or B2B tech space
- Experience editing videos for LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, or performance-based ad platforms
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS or tools like Webflow for embedding animations
- Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment with cross-functional collaboration
What Success Looks Like
- Product features are turned into slick, digestible animations that improve engagement and comprehension
- Brand visuals are consistently high-quality and reflect the personality and tone
- Animation is used thoughtfully across the customer journey to reduce friction and improve retention
Compensation and Working Setup
- Base Salary: $1200-$1700 Depending on experience and qualifications
- Independent contractor agreement, paid at the end of each month
- Must have own equipment and necessary software (Mac or Linux OS)
- Start Date: Flexible – we prioritize finding the right fit over urgency
- Additional Info: Long-term commitment desired
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm UK hours
- Location: Remote South Africa
