About The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic team remotely, with a preference for candidates located in the greater Washington D.C. (DMV) area. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating intuitive, visually appealing, and highly functional software solutions tailored to our clients' needs. In this role, you will work directly with client stakeholders and our development team throughout the entire design lifecycle, from initial user discovery and ideation to rapid prototyping and final pixel-perfect execution. Your primary focus will be on translating complex data and user requirements into simple, elegant interfaces that enhance user engagement and satisfaction. Qualifications
- 5-7 years of proven experience in full-cycle software design, including wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity mockups.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating UX and UI design skills, with examples of rapid prototyping and iterative design processes.
- Advanced proficiency with Figma and other relevant design tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams and external clients.
- Extensive knowledge of usability principles and accessibility standards, including 508 compliance and WCAG guidelines.
- A user-centered design mindset and a passion for creating intuitive and engaging digital products.
- Development skills are a plus, including the ability to run and test designs locally from repositories.
- Understanding of data concepts, relational databases, mathematics, and data science is highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Conduct user research by engaging with client stakeholders to understand needs, create personas, and map user journeys.
- Design and develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to visualize solutions efficiently and iteratively.
- Translate complex data sets into clear, insightful visualizations that facilitate understanding at a glance.
- Create visually compelling interfaces, focusing on layout, typography, color schemes, and overall user experience.
- Participate in design reviews, gather feedback, and refine designs to ensure alignment with client expectations and usability standards.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
- Conduct usability testing, gather user feedback, and iteratively improve the interface to optimize user engagement and satisfaction.
- Maintain consistency in design language and adhere to accessibility standards across all deliverables.
