Social Media Coordinator
Salary: $25.00 to $30.00 hourly
Description
We are seeking a highly organized and creative Social Media Coordinator to play an essential role in supporting audience growth and engagement. Reporting to the Executive Editor, the Social Media Coordinator will assist with implementing program strategies through administrative, communications, and social media efforts. This position is ideal for someone passionate about books and reading, who understands audience alignment and engagement, can work across multiple platforms, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Audience Growth:
- Drive engagement by increasing social media followers and newsletter subscribers through engaging content and strategies.
- Work on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, creating content that resonates with the target audience and aligns with established audience orientation.
- Collaborate to ideate and create engaging social media posts, audience offers, and partnership opportunities to promote program visibility.
- Produce and repurpose video content, such as editing longer video pieces into shorter excerpts for optimal social media performance.
- Be an independent, proactive contributor who can identify growth opportunities, ask clarifying questions, and take initiative before starting projects.
Communications & Marketing
- Assist in the creation, design, and distribution of program-specific digital resources, such as book discussion guides and curated reading lists.
- Support in drafting newsletters, email communications, and digital marketing content to engage audiences.
- Maintain and refine the program’s funnel/lead magnets and workflows to drive audience engagement.
Requirements
- Familiar with Instagram and excited about TikTok as a creative platform for reaching new audiences.
- A clear passion for books and reading, with an interest in connecting like-minded individuals and organizations.
- Proficient in tools like Google Sheets and Airtable for project tracking and workflow management.
- Possesses video production/editing experience, particularly in editing longer video pieces into short, engaging social media-friendly content.
- A proactive, self-starter who is organized, curious, and thrives on asking questions early to set up tasks for success.
