About The Role

We’re looking for a versatile and experienced Senior Software Developer (Full Stack & AI Focus) to help shape the future of digital health through smart, clinically relevant, and user-friendly applications. You will work across the stack, leading the design and development of regulated, AI-powered medical software and the development of sophisticated AI-powered systems from inception to production.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments, is passionate about improving patient outcomes through cutting-edge technology and can balance the rigor required for regulated healthcare technologies in an early stage start up.

You’ll lead efforts to build and integrate machine learning into our digital health platform, while also supporting full stack application development, bringing together your deep expertise in artificial intelligence, modern software engineering, and health data systems. This critical role impacts the intersection of AI innovation and patient care.

We’re a remote-first team and support working from anywhere in the U.S. We currently have teammates in the Chicago, Minneapolis, San Diego, and Salt Lake City areas, and we’d love to grow our presence in those regions - though it’s not a requirement

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain robust, scalable full stack applications across web and mobile platforms.
  • Leverage AI to accelerate development workflows, improve code quality, reduce technical debt, and optimize deployment processes
  • Lead design, development, and deployment of AI/ML algorithms, models and solutions, from initial concept to product deployment, and integrate them into our software platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, clinical, design, and regulatory) to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, compliance, and security standards (e.g., HIPAA, FDA, ISO 13485).
  • Identify and resolve bugs and performance bottlenecks across the stack.
  • Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning, code reviews, and stand-ups.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and apply them thoughtfully to product development.

Our Tech Stack

  • Mobile: React Native (Android/iOS)
  • Web/Server: React, Node.js, MongoDB
  • Infrastructure: AWS (S3, EC2, CloudFront, Route 53), Docker, Git, Bitbucket, CI/CD tools

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML models in production.
  • Demonstrated experience developing net-new products from scratch in a startup or innovation-driven environment.
  • Strong coding skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React Native, and Node.js.
  • Proficiency in ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure and containerization (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MLOps experience (e.g., MLflow, DVC) and knowledge of validation best practices.
  • Startup experience, particularly in building products from the ground up.
  • Experience with Bluetooth connectivity or health device integrations.
  • UI/UX sensibility and appreciation for user-centered design.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and agile development.
  • Experience developing and shipping applications in regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, FDA).
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7, EHR systems).
  • Experience with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), clinical decision support, or medical device software.
  • Comfortable with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
