Betterteam is a profitable SaaS company that helps small businesses hire faster with a simple Applicant Tracking System (ATS). We are now hiring our first full-time product designer to own the end-to-end experience - from early user research through polished, production-ready UI. If you like talking to real users in the morning, sketching flows at lunch, and handing off a clean Figma file to engineers by day's end, you will like this role.
You will report to the Product Manager and work side-by-side with our CTO, software engineers, and Customer Success team that lives inside the product all day.
What You'll Do
- Lead research and discovery - interview SMB owners and HR managers, run usability tests, and turn findings into clear problem statements.
- Map user flows and wireframes that make hiring tasks painless; turn low-fi sketches into clickable prototypes fast.
- Design high-fidelity UI in Figma and build a lightweight design system (colors, typography, components, states).
- Collaborate with engineering on hand-off: annotate edge cases, test in staging, and sign off on pixel-perfect releases.
- Own in-app copy and micro-interactions so the product speaks the user's language.
- Track success metrics (activation, time-to-hire, feature adoption) and iterate based on real data.
- Champion accessibility and responsive design so every user - desktop or mobile - gets a smooth experience.
- Coach teammates on design thinking; you will raise the bar across product, marketing, and CS.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 5+ years designing B2B web apps, with a portfolio that shows both UX process and polished UI.
- Comfortable running user research: interviews, surveys, usability tests, and synthesizing insights.
- Mastery of Figma (components, auto-layout, prototyping) plus familiarity with Adobe or similar tools.
- Proven record of building or extending a design system and partnering with engineers to ship it.
- Data-curious: you check analytics or run quick tests before declaring a design "done."
- Write clear, concise English copy; plain words beat lorem ipsum.
- Happy to overlap a few hours with US time for user calls; rest of schedule is flexible.
Why This Product Designer Role Beats Your Current One
- Green-field canvas - you set the patterns, colors, and component library; nothing legacy to untangle.
- Direct impact - roadmap decisions are made in a small room (or Slack channel); your voice is heard.
- Fast release cycles - specs go from Figma to prod in days, not quarters.
- Real users on speed-dial - our CS team books research calls in minutes, so you test with actual customers, not guesses.
- No pixel-pushing without context - every project starts with a user problem and ends with a metric.
What You'll Enjoy
- Competitive salary.
- Medical, dental, and vision from day one.
- 20 vacation days, 10 personal/sick days, and all major PH holidays.
- A product-driven culture that values plain talk, rapid iteration, and shipping work that customers notice.
