Job Description

As a Project Specialist within the Marketing PMO, you’ll focus on the executional portion of programs and campaigns by supporting PMO Program Managers and Senior Project Managers who guide these high-volume initiatives from strategy through delivery. This role will also independently manage the delivery of multiple mid-level projects on time and within the established scope. This includes monitoring and managing the initiation of forecasted work, coordinating timelines with cross-functional partners, ensuring image and product readiness, facilitating reviews, and producing recaps for completed projects.

For this role, a key area of focus will be providing project management support for Nordstrom’s Holiday catalog. This includes managing timelines, collaborating with cross-functional partners on milestones, ensuring product accuracy, and supporting creative and leadership reviews. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Catalog Project Management Support:

  • Lead project management efforts for Nordstrom’s Holiday catalog, ensuring all timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Program Manager and Print Production on timeline planning and milestone coordination.
  • Partner with Image Project Manager on the FIS process and catalog product features, ensuring alignment while tracking to overall project schedule.
  • Partner with the Merchant Team (NMG) to ensure product accuracy

Timeline & Schedule Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, capturing key milestones from inception to delivery.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing Program Managers, Creative Merch (CM), and Merchants, to ensure alignment on deadlines and scope.
  • Proactively identify potential risks to timelines and offer solutions to mitigate delays.

Image Readiness & Product Management

  • Manage all aspects of image readiness, including:
  • Product verification to ensure alignment with catalog requirements.
  • Coordinating sell shot collection and approvals.
  • Gathering and incorporating buyer feedback to ensure product accuracy.
  • Partner closely with Creative Merch and Merchant teams to ensure product readiness for catalog production.

Review Management

  • Collaborate with Marketing Program Managers to facilitate and support all catalog review processes, including:
  • Creative Reviews (in partnership with Art Directors).
  • Leadership, Legal, and Requestor Reviews.
  • Provide consultative support during reviews on product-related questions, such as product swaps or adjustments.

Project Planning & Lifecycle Management

  • Assist Program or Senior Project Managers with campaign planning as needed.
  • Champion processes and workflows to safeguard consistency, while flexing when required for project success.
  • Lead executional projects across various channel deliverables from kick-off to delivery.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and recap project-related team meetings (e.g., kick-offs, creative reviews, stand-ups, and risk mitigation huddles).
  • Ensure proper project closure and archive procedures are executed.

Project Management System Coordination

  • Maintain all project documentation, schedules, and approvals within PMO technology systems.
  • Ensure the system centrally houses all project requirements and updates, providing visibility to stakeholders.
  • Leverage reporting tools to analyze and communicate project trends, insights, and potential risks.
  • Suggest process or system improvements to streamline workflows and optimize efficiency.

Business Knowledge

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the Nordstrom business, target customer segments, and goals, specifically as they relate to the Holiday catalog.
  • Stay informed on Nordstrom’s marketing initiatives and performance to align project goals with broader business objectives.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in project management, marketing, or catalog production.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communication, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of project management principles.
  • Familiarity with marketing channels, including print production, digital, and creative workflows.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize accordingly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a collaborative mindset and a “can-do” attitude.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments with shifting priorities.

Preferred

  • 4-6 years of project management experience in marketing, advertising, or catalog production.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including creative, merchandising, and legal.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency using project management software solutions.
  • Familiarity with Mac OS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and tools.
  • Familiarity with Workfront

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $24.50 - $45.00 Hourly
