The Dropbox Design & Research Team creates experiences that make work feel effortless. We're problem solvers and innovators, combining research insights with thoughtful design to craft solutions that make users’ lives easier. Through iterative design and deep user research, we uncover, understand, and solve fundamental problems that impede enlightened work. Role Description

DocSend helps customers securely manage, track, and share documents. Whether customers are closing a deal, raising capital, or collaborating on sensitive projects, they have complete control over their documents with DocSend. DocSend was acquired by Dropbox in 2021 and has grown significantly since then, providing each member on the team a wide scope for ownership and impact.

As a Product Designer on the DocSend team, you’ll own many of our core product workflows, and play a key role in enabling us to deliver on our customer commitments and business goals. We are consistently adding new features to DocSend to solve more problems for our customers. Your contribution will ensure that these features have high quality visual design, and are intuitive and easy to use for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Impact. Have a bias for action and deliver high-quality work that adds the most value for customers and our business.
  • Customer focus. Understand the needs of DocSend customers and validate that proposed solutions solve their problems.
  • Interaction design. Design tasks that are easy and efficient for customers to complete, incorporating multiple states, edge cases, micro-interactions and/or accessibility requirements.
  • Visual design. Consistently practice good use of visual design skills (color, layout, typography, visual hierarchy)
  • Communication. Clear verbal and written communication. Proactively identify issues and share information to ensure stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  • Solution generation. Explore solutions in varying degrees of fidelity. Generate ideas based on multiple inputs (audits, research, data), using known patterns when appropriate.
  • Product strategy. Understand how our business works and how our product strategy supports it. Designs customer-centric solutions aligned to vision and objectives.
  • Decision-making. Identify and gather input from the right stakeholders and consider customer needs to make informed and timely decisions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of product design work experience
  • High craft bar and attention to detail in visual design, interaction design, and prototyping
  • Experience with common prototyping tools to demonstrate complex features and flows in web experiences
  • Ability to describe impact in quantitative/business metrics as well as qualitative methods
  • Experience across the product development lifecycle from discovery through shipping and iteration
  • Demonstrated skills for collaborating closely with product managers, engineers and customers in order to achieve better design outcomes
  • Familiarity with designing for B2B SaaS products
  • Ownership mindset with a bias towards action, helping to drive teams and projects forward.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in designing solutions to support financial transactions (ex. fundraising and M&A transactions)

$133,900—$181,100 USD

US Zone 3
$119,000—$161,000 USD

The range(s) listed above is the expected annual salary/OTE (On-Target Earnings) for this role, subject to change.

Please note, OTE are for sales roles only.

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation. We target most new hire offers between the minimum up to the middle of the range.

Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current US Zone locations are as follows:

  • US Zone 1: San Francisco metro, New York City metro, or Seattle metro
  • US Zone 2: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, California (outside SF metro), Colorado, Connecticut (outside NYC metro), Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (outside NYC metro), Oregon, Pennsylvania (outside NYC or DC metro), Washington DC metro, and West Virginia (DC metro)
  • US Zone 3: All other US locations
