We’re looking for a seasoned social strategist and team leader to drive the vision, execution, and growth of PFF’s social presence across all major platforms. As the Head of Social Media, you’ll own PFF’s social identity, content strategy, and performance — with a particular focus on driving engagement and supporting key business objectives, including the adoption of PFF+ subscriptions. You’ll bring football analytics to life for millions of followers, turning data, insights, and tools into compelling, high-impact social content.
This role is equal parts strategist, team leader, and operator. You know football. You know social. And you know how to lead a team that delivers best-in-class content that breaks through the noise and drives real results.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve PFF’s social media strategy across platforms including Instagram, X (Twitter), TikTok, Facebook, and Threads.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary social team, including social managers, a graphic designer, and a short-form video editor.
- Drive KPIs across awareness, engagement, traffic, video performance, and subscription growth.
- Partner cross-functionally with media, marketing, and product teams to align social strategy with brand campaigns, football tentpoles, and product launches.
- Develop and execute social-specific content plans for major football tentpole events (e.g., Combine, Free Agency, Draft, Season Kickoff, Playoffs, Super Bowl).
- Drive social support for key PFF digital tools, with a particular focus on our new suite of betting tools
- Contribute to content creation directly—whether ideating, scripting, or occasionally posting—to stay close to platform nuances and creative execution.
- Monitor and engage with the football community across platforms to foster conversation, respond to fans, and build a stronger connection between PFF and its audience.
- Collaborate with the media sales team to generate brand partnership opportunities and ensure flawless execution of social deliverables tied to sponsored campaigns.
- Leverage analytics as a foundational tool to guide daily decision-making, optimize content performance in real time, and shape long-term social strategy.
- Maintain PFF’s brand voice and visual identity, while adapting tone, style, and format to align with platform-specific best practices and audience behavior.
- Stay up to-date on platform best practices, algorithm changes, and cultural trends.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in social media strategy and execution, with at least 2+ years in a management role.
- Deep knowledge of NFL and college football and a passion for creating compelling social content through the lens of data, analysis, and cultural relevance.
- Familiarity with the sports betting landscape and how fans engage with betting-related content on social platforms.
- Proven ability to grow and manage high-performing, multidisciplinary teams including social strategists, designers, and video editors.
- Track record of driving measurable results across engagement, traffic, video performance, and subscription growth.
- Hands-on experience developing platform-specific strategies for Instagram, X (Twitter), TikTok, Facebook, and Threads, with a clear understanding of content formats that perform best on each.
- Comfortable translating business and brand objectives into breakthrough social campaigns, in partnership with marketing, media, product, and sales teams.
- Strong grasp of social media analytics and performance tools to inform decisions and improve output.
- Ability to ideate and execute timely content around the NFL calendar, including live coverage of tentpole events.
- Experience maintaining and evolving a brand’s voice and aesthetic across channels, while flexing for platform tone and audience expectations.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and remote-first environment.
