Tasks

During this three-month unpaid internship, the Graphic Designer will assist in the development and creation of visual concepts of content by using computer software, to effectively communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate consumers.

The Graphic Designer’s additional duties will be to:

General:

  • Determine the message that the design should portray

  • Create images that identify a product or convey a message

  • Select colors, images, text style, and layouts to enhance design impact and legibility

  • Present design to team, incorporating feedback to ensure final designs meet project requirements

  • Collaborate with developers and designers to create and execute a design strategy

  • Select and edit images for various multimedia platforms

  • Work with copywriters and creative leaders to produce final designs

  • Test graphics across various media platforms

  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand

  • Create innovative illustrations and icons

  • Occasionally undertake tasks outside the normal scope of your job or this job post

Specific:

  • The Graphic Designer will work on marketing projects: social media design (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn), newsletters, email marketing, brochures, eBooks

  • Has the ability to create engaging visual content for our target audience

  • Design illustrations and other graphic elements for animation

Requirements

Education:

  • Possessing or pursuing a university degree in graphic design, or an art-related field

Experience:

  • Working experience in graphic design

  • Proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Figma, and Photoshop

bonus points

  • Initial experience in motion graphic design

  • Experience with Google Products, After effects, Animate

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Affinity Designer, Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, Figma, and other graphic design software

  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web

  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS (preferred)

  • Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent eye for detail

  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage competing projects with tight deadlines

  • Enthusiastic, innovative, and creative spirit

  • Curiosity and the desire to learn

Technology / Connectivity:

Your internet connectivity is sufficiently maintained, allowing you to hold online meetings and accomplish tasks. Your devices (e.g. laptops and/or smartphones) are sufficiently maintained, allowing you to use these gadgets to accomplish tasks and to communicate with your team.
