Are you a creative person with a passion for furniture and fixture development? Do you have experience in translating concepts into production-ready pieces using 3D and CAD software? We’re looking for a talented Furniture Designer to join our client’s team and support the execution of high-end custom furniture and fixtures for commercial interiors. This is a part-time remote position, and candidates must be able to work aligned with U.S. Central Time (CST) hours.

What you’ll do:

  • Translate conceptual furniture and fixture designs using software like SketchUp, Rhino, and CAD tools.
  • Create and develop custom furniture and fixture drawings to integrate into design documentation.
  • Execute internal project deliverables on time, as coordinated by the design or technical team.
  • Use Bluebeam to address markups and communicate progress.
  • Communicate directly with fabricators and designers to ensure final pieces align with the intended design.
  • Review and comment on shop drawings for compliance and accuracy.
  • Visit fabrication sites, review prototypes, and lead quality control for custom fixtures and furniture.
  • Manage communication with external vendors, aligning with studio design standards and documentation processes.

What you must have:

  • A degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in furniture or industrial design, preferably in a commercial design context.
  • Proficiency in SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
  • A solid understanding of fabrication methods and materials.
  • Ability to align with an established design process and manage your own workflow.
  • Experience reviewing prototypes, coordinating with vendors, and producing documentation-ready drawings.
  • An advanced English Level.
