About The Role

Abbott is seeking a Full Stack Front End Oriented Engineer to contribute to a SaaS cloud platform supporting users worldwide. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies in a fast-paced environment, developing scalable, secure, and reliable solutions for medical devices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication skills, and a passion for software engineering, helping shape team direction while delivering high-quality features.

Responsibilities

  • Build reusable components and front-end libraries for scalable use
  • Translate designs and wireframes into clean, maintainable code
  • Optimize components for performance across various devices and browsers
  • Develop new user-facing features using React.js
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to integrate APIs enabling users to share and utilize medical data
  • Design and implement unit-testable, maintainable code
  • Work with InfoSec teams to develop secure software solutions
  • Participate in defining and shaping API contracts with cross-functional teams
  • Ensure application performance, uptime, scalability, and high code quality standards
  • Contribute to architectural and operational decisions
  • Create diagrams, flowcharts, and models to illustrate internal design and workflows
  • Actively engage as part of an Agile team focused on development, testing, and delivery

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience in Agile environments
  • Proficient with HTML5, CSS, TypeScript, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Understanding of web standards and best practices
  • Practical experience with RESTful APIs and microservices development
  • Familiarity with design systems and Figma design tokens
  • Strong motivation to learn new skills and meet objectives
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional and distributed teams, including asynchronous collaboration
  • Experience conducting collaborative and effective code reviews

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multilanguage support, internationalization, or headless content management systems
  • Knowledge of Docker containers and orchestration platforms such as Docker Swarm, ECS, or Kubernetes
  • Exposure to open-source software development and emerging technology trends

Compensation

Base pay range: $75,300.00 – $150,700.00 per year (may vary by location)
