Yahoo serves as a trusted guide for hundreds of millions of people globally, helping them achieve their goals online through our portfolio of iconic products. For advertisers, Yahoo Advertising offers omnichannel solutions and powerful data to engage with our brands and deliver results.

Yahoo is at a pivotal moment in its evolution—a chance to redefine its brand, re-engage its audience, and build the future of digital media. This role is an opportunity to be a key architect of that transformation, leveraging world-class marketing resources, cutting-edge technology, and a rich ecosystem of products to drive impact at scale. The Director of Growth Marketing will lead and scale Yahoo's in-house Performance Media Practice, driving growth across Yahoo Mail, Finance, Sports, News, and more. This role is ideal for a seasoned growth marketing expert with deep technical knowledge of media buying, attribution, and optimization. You’ll set the strategy, build a high-performing team, and lead execution across paid media channels including App Install, Search, Social, Programmatic, and Display.

Working cross-functionally with analytics, product, and engineering, you’ll develop full-funnel growth strategies, implement cutting-edge measurement frameworks, and champion experimentation as a core practice. As a senior leader, you’ll shape the future of Yahoo’s growth engine—bringing together data, creativity, and technology to unlock performance at scale.

This is a unique opportunity to drive measurable business impact while helping redefine Yahoo’s role in the next chapter of digital media.

About You

  • You are a world-class expert in growth and performance media.
  • You have hands-on expertise leading and scaling high-impact performance media programs across App Install, Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, Programmatic, Video, and Emerging Channels. You instinctively architect holistic, full-funnel strategies, integrating multiple platforms and tactics to drive business growth.
  • You believe in "Optimization as a Practice."
  • You are obsessed with experimentation and iteration, always testing into new approaches to maximize efficiency and scale. You understand that growth is a constant cycle of hypothesis, execution, measurement, and refinement—not a one-time event.
  • You lead high-performing teams with excellence.
  • You have successfully built, managed, and mentored teams of media buyers, growth strategists, and performance marketers. You know how to set a vision, instill a culture of accountability, and empower teams to operate at the highest level.
  • You are a strategic and technical thinker.
  • You understand marketing technology and measurement inside and out—from mobile attribution platforms (Appsflyer, SKAN) to tracking infrastructure (GTM, server-side tagging, SDK integrations). You’re as comfortable diving deep into data pipelines and analytics frameworks as you are in high-level strategy discussions with executives.
  • You thrive in complexity and cross-functional collaboration.
  • You see marketing, product, analytics, and engineering as deeply interconnected disciplines. You can partner with engineers to solve data tracking challenges, collaborate with analytics teams to refine attribution models, and align with creative teams to drive performance through iterative content testing.
  • You have a strong executive presence.
  • You are data-driven and commercially-minded, with the ability to distill performance insights into compelling narratives for senior leadership. You can effectively articulate marketing impact, justify investments, and drive buy-in across cross-functional teams.

  • Deeply integrate marketing technology and data infrastructure, partnering with engineering, analytics, and product teams to ensure seamless tracking, tagging, and optimization.
  • Advocate for a data-driven, experimentation-led culture, influencing executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement the latest ad tech, automation, and AI-driven optimization solutions.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in performance media, growth marketing, and digital advertising for major global brands.
