Job Description:

Our client is looking for a Backend Python Developer. If you have advanced Python expertise, strong pandas experience, and solid SQL skills, this opportunity is for you.

They are a leading financial institution headquartered in Frankfurt am Main and hold a significant presence in the European banking sector and drive innovation through data-centric engineering. You’ll join a modern, tech-forward culture building high-performance services that power critical banking operations—all while enjoying a remote-first arrangement with funded trips to Germany for key milestones. Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services using advanced Python features and sound architecture practices.
  • Develop and optimize data-processing workflows with pandas for large, complex datasets.
  • Write efficient SQL to extract, transform, and report on financial data.
  • Tune performance and implement multithreaded execution strategies for low-latency delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to capture requirements, review code, test, and document solutions.

Requirements:

Hard Skills:

  • Expert-level Python, including decorators, class hierarchies, profiling, and multithreading.
  • Hands-on pandas for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Solid SQL fundamentals (joins, aggregations, subqueries).
  • Git or equivalent version-control workflow.
  • Professional English communication, written and spoken.
  • Preferred: Experience with banking or financial datasets.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Parquet file formats.
  • Preferred: Advanced SQL Server (stored procedures, indexing, optimization).
  • Preferred: German language proficiency.

More Information:

  • Compensation: up to USD 3,500 per month (contract).
  • Travel expenses, accommodation, and per diem covered for required on-site visits
