Location: Remote (EST hours preferred)Job Type: W2 Contract (Long-term/ongoing)Salary: $35 - 38 per hourCella is seeking a Production Designer to join our in-house production studio at our client, an American distillery, for a remote contract opportunity.The Production Designer/Artist (PD/A) is responsible for supporting the graphic design staff in the execution of marketing creative projects. The PD/A is a technical expert in developing graphics for digital and print channels, retouching imagery, creating mock-up renderings, and preparing final design files. The PD/A supports the production design manager in producing Tier 2 and 3 marketing and sales collateral, including working with existing templates and assets, and ensuring technically accurate and industry standard production-ready artwork to meet production needs for vendors.Responsibilities:
Execute design solutions as directed against established creative, or repurpose existing designs and artwork for new uses.
Resize, revise and update existing design deliverables, including but not limited to: point-of-sale, sell sheets, digital banner ads, truck wraps, billboards and labels.
Prepare production-ready files to appropriate production specifications.
Responsible for pre-flighting all production files assigned to ensure quality.
Responsible for QC to ensure all files contain all correct elements needed for production of final deliverables.
Check files to ensure that all settings are correct including color, image resolution and output settings.
Correct all inconsistencies and mistakes in the art file before its release, including typesetting revisions, scaling artwork, photo retouching, correcting vector artwork, color corrections/adjustments and page sequence/imposition revisions.
Take direction from art directors and graphic designers while meeting deadlines on various projects occurring at the same time.
Work with print vendors to troubleshoot and problem solve production issues on files.
Ensure all files are correct and final before archiving.
Provide technical guidance based on project needs/complexity to meet production specifications and standards.
Maintain and update images, photos, videos and work products in appropriate asset management system.
Create mock-up renderings of displays, floorbins and shippers.
Based off existing art, build editable POS templates in PowerPoint for local market use.
Adhere to brand standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in graphic design or related field.
Minimum of three years of professional-level experience required in creative/graphic design or production within an external or in-house agency.
Portfolio required.
Nice To Haves
Packaging experience.
Experience building editable templates in Canva.
Skills
Technically savvy.
Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software, specifically: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat.
Sound understanding of MS Office.
Detail-oriented, highly organized and committed to quality control.
Consistently produces accurate artwork in a timely manner.
Ability to interpret and implement client changes to artwork during proof cycles.
Experience working across Mac and Windows platforms.
Strong typographic skills in print and digital channels.
Ability to create high quality CMYK or RGB images for print or multimedia.
Understanding of dot gain, color separations, trapping, Pantone to CMYK conversions, imposition work and retouching.
Knowledgeable on how to troubleshoot problem art files.
Good written, oral and listening skills and undertakes actions to develop them further.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple quick turn projects.
Ability to work within a project management system to meet project deadlines.
Effectively and professionally interacts with others.
