Odoo developer Role

Responsibilities

  • Odoo Module Development & Customization: Develop new Odoo modules and customize existing functionalities to meet specific project requirements.
  • Technical Solution Implementation: Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions within the Odoo framework.
  • Front-End Development: Design and implement user interfaces using JavaScript (including OWL), HTML, CSS, and XML.
  • Full Software Development Lifecycle: Manage all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, and deployment.
  • Odoo Deployment & Configuration: Deploy and configure Odoo instances across various environments (cloud, on-premise).
  • Issue Resolution & Debugging: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including debugging complex performance problems.
  • Integration & Optimization: Integrate Odoo with third-party applications (payment gateways, SMS gateways, REST APIs, etc.) and optimize existing solutions.
  • Code Quality & Best Practices: Participate in code reviews, adhere to Odoo development standards, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
  • Knowledge Sharing & Peer Support: Assist peers in improving their Odoo skills, conduct code reviews, and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Odoo Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest Odoo features and suggest existing module utilization to reduce development time.
  • Test Framework: Utilize the Odoo test framework for frontend and backend testing.

Qualifications

  • Odoo Development Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Odoo development.
  • Python & Odoo Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python and the Odoo framework (ORM, API).
  • Front-End Proficiency: Solid understanding of Odoo front-end technologies: XML, JavaScript (including OWL), HTML, and CSS.
  • Database Knowledge: Strong understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
  • Odoo Module Development: Proven experience developing and customizing Odoo modules from scratch.
  • Odoo POS Development: Strong understanding of Odoo POS development.
  • Integration Experience: Experience integrating Odoo with third-party applications.
  • Odoo Test Framework: Fair understanding and experience in Odoo test framework.
  • Odoo Best Practices: Good understanding of Odoo development standards and coding conventions.
  • Version Control: Experience with Git.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Remote Work Abilities: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate remotely.
  • Self-Motivation & Problem-Solving: Strong self-motivation and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
  • Odoo Domain knowledge: Experience in: Accounting, Inventory, Manufacturing, HR, Odoo financial reports and Odoo reporting.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
