SEO / Web Design Manager (Remote, Offshore)
About Us
We are a small, dynamic three-person company with a growing portfolio of clients. We empower our team members with significant autonomy, fostering an environment where accountability and high-quality work are paramount. We embrace flexible, asynchronous work, valuing results and effective communication over rigid schedules.
The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced SEO / Web Design Manager to join our team. This is a highly autonomous, remote role, open to talent based in LATAM or South Africa, requiring minimal direction. You'll be a pivotal "analytical do-er" - someone who not only crafts sophisticated strategies but also actively drives their implementation and streamlines processes. This role is a flexible 30-hour per week position, designed for a self-starter who thrives in an asynchronous work environment. You'll be the primary thought authority on SEO, working closely with our owner to define and refine best practices for a diverse client base.
What You'll Do
SEO Strategy & Execution
- Act as the owner's SEO thought partner: review ideas, challenge assumptions, and propose innovative strategies.
- Build out detailed SEO strategies and frameworks, focusing heavily on Local SEO tactics (this will constitute approximately 90% of your workload).
- Execute SEO tasks directly or build comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checklists that can be passed on to the broader team for efficient implementation across multiple clients.
- Own and continuously iterate on SEO processes for a growing book of 60-100+ clients.
- Utilize Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and other key tools to monitor performance and inform strategy.
Web Design & Operational Support
- Apply your working knowledge of WordPress (Elementor) and Squarespace to understand backend functionalities (e.g., 301 redirects), collaborating effectively with our current designer. You won't be actively editing sites, but your understanding will be crucial for SEO implementation.
- Support web design tasks, especially where your previous experience overlaps with SEO requirements.
- Contribute to developing and refining SOPs and process documentation, acting as an advisor to the owner in establishing robust operational frameworks for client services.
Must-Have Skills
- Deep expertise in Local SEO, with a clear understanding of its distinction from national SEO.
- Proven experience with leading SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Search Atlas.
- Strong ability to translate strategic insights into actionable plans and tangible execution (you're an analytical do-er, not just an advisor).
- Mid to senior-level SEO experience (6-10 years is ideal).
- Highly self-sufficient and capable of working asynchronously and independently.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (accents are acceptable as this is a non-client-facing role).
- Familiarity and comfort with leveraging AI tools in your workflow.
- Proficiency with Google My Business for local SEO optimization.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Google Tag Manager.
- Familiarity with Loom for video communication.
- Understanding of Schema Markup.
- Background in web design to enhance collaboration with our designer.
- Experience with small agency operations and drafting SOPs.
- Prior experience working with U.S.-based founders/teams.
Position Details
- Seniority: Mid-to-Senior Level
- Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
- Communication Style: Primarily asynchronous (email, Google Chat, Loom) with open dialogue.
- Time Expectation: 30 hours per week, with flexibility. Responses within 24 hours, initial drafts within 5-7 days.
