About The Role

CSC is seeking a Junior Web Developer to join its Digital Team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, solutions-driven individual passionate about improving the lives of people affected by cancer. Reporting to the Lead Web Developer, the Junior Web Developer will assist in full-stack development and support the deployment of digital projects that reflect best practices in coding, web layout, and accessibility.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new website features and layouts for CMS-driven sites
  • Develop and maintain internal and external web applications
  • Assist with infrastructure updates including DNS, security, and performance optimization
  • Support staff-generated website requests across CSC digital properties
  • Track and optimize web metrics across digital platforms
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and data privacy standards

Skills

  • 2–4 years of professional web development experience
  • Strong JavaScript and PHP skills
  • Experience with PHP MVC frameworks (e.g., Laravel)
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms like Drupal
  • Proficiency in React or Vue.js
  • Understanding of third-party and RESTful API integrations
  • Experience using Git and Docker
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS
  • Basic understanding of algorithms, data structures, and secure coding practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in nonprofit or startup environments is a plus

Salary And Benefits

Compensation is based on experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, statutory benefits as required by law are provided.

Work Location

This position is available in-person, hybrid, or fully remote. CSC’s offices are located in Washington, D.C.
