We are looking for a Web and Digital Interface Designer to write, review, and validate prompt-based questions designed to train AI.

Your expertise in user interface design, digital experience workflows, wireframing, and responsive web standards will ensure each prompt and response is visually thoughtful, accessible, and aligned with best practices in digital product design. We welcome professionals with experience in websites, SaaS applications, mobile interfaces, or design systems to help shape AI’s understanding of modern user experience and usability patterns.

You are a good fit if you:

  • Have over 3+ years of experience in web design, UI/UX or digital interface development.
  • Have a bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, web development or related field.
  • Have a strong background in one of the following -
  • Design web pages, dashboards, and mobile first interfaces
  • Creating wireframes, prototypes, and user flows
  • Working with design systems, grids, and responsive breakpoints
  • Applying UX principles like accessibility, usability and information hierarchy
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have strong attention to details

Preferred Qualification

  • Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS fundamentals, design tokens or frontend frameworks is a plus.

Role Highlights

  • Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.
  • Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your own schedule.
  • Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.

Role Start Date

  • This role will begin in early to mid-July with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Interview Process

  • You will take an AI interview where you will be asked questions about your background in design interface and user experience design.
  • You will share your screen and write a detailed prompt to generate an AI response about a design related topic.
  • You will evaluate and compare LLM outputs to determine which response is more effective and accurate.
  • Applicants will be selected based on their performance in the AI interview and on the accuracy and quality of their evaluations.

Compensation and Legal Details

  • You will be legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor
  • We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect
