WEB APPLICATION DEVELOPER

Job Summary

OPEN Health is seeking to add a Web Application Developer to our team. At OPEN Health you can contribute to the successes of our clients’ executive level initiatives on a national or, depending on the engagement, a global scale. OPEN Health works with life science leaders in biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device and/or diagnostic companies to develop and execute strategies that improve operational excellence and performance. Our engagements over the past 20 years include: post-merger integration, product launch planning, cross-functional governance, critical vendor selection and implementation support, field-based employee territory design/staffing model development, and technology solutions. OPEN Health Web Application Developer collaborates with experienced team members to execute the daily operations of our projects in accordance with timelines and quality standards. Successful OPEN Health Web Application Developers are self- motivated, focused, detail oriented and understand the importance of execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of relational database design and management, query authoring with SQL for ad-hoc report generation, and working familiarity with various SQL dialects
  • Strong understanding of data structures used in ETL processes for building schemas used in data transformation
  • Rapid prototyping of business CRUD applications integrating with up-and-coming and established enterprise technologies
  • Data management and software engineering for new and existing products with support for analytics dashboards

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Proficiency with TypeScript across both client-side and server-side environments
  • Strong understanding of version control in a collaborative setting, including Git flow and code reviews
  • Familiarity with multiple programming paradigms, including procedural, object oriented, and functional styles
  • Experience with Node.js, Python, SQL, Git, and AWS. Knowledge of Golang is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with ORMs such as TypeORM, Drizzle, Prisma, or similar tools
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks including Vue.js with Vuetify and React
  • Demonstrated ability to develop client-facing, service-oriented web applications
  • Understanding of Agile Software development methodologies and team practices
  • Self-motivated problem solver with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Visio, and Outlook
  • ANALYTICAL SKILLS – Ability to compare, contrast and quality check work and keen attention to detail. Can present numerical data orally and in writing or through graphics.
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS – Superior interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS – Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel (especially spreadsheets), and Power Point, database, and reporting tools. Knowledge of CVENT is preferred.
  • DECISION MAKING SKILLS – Ability to make clear, concise decisions and solve complex problems.
  • ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS – Establishing and maintaining an excellent relationship with the client and the participants is critical to the success of this position.
  • ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS – Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to achieve goals in a timely fashion.
  • INITATIVE & LEARNING AGILITY – Capable of independently acquiring new technical knowledge and skills. Comfortable with self-directed learning and quickly adapting to new tools, libraries, and technologies.
