What difference will you make?

As our Graphic Designer and Illustrator Volunteer, your work will shape how young people, educators, and communities engage with our message. Your designs will help us raise awareness of youth mental health, reduce stigma, and encourage early intervention. By creating compelling visuals, you will enhance the effectiveness and reach of our campaigns, workshop materials, and digital presence, ensuring our resources are not only informative but also engaging and accessible for young audiences. Your contribution will also help build a consistent and recognisable visual identity for Be Free Campaign as we grow.

What are we looking for?

Essential experience Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in graphic design, illustration, or visual communication. Proficiency in design apps and platforms (for example, Canva). Experience designing for both print and digital formats. A portfolio that demonstrates creative flair, clarity of communication, and adaptability. Desirable experience Experience designing for charities, education, or youth-focused organisations. Familiarity with accessibility in design (e.g., colour contrast, readability). Animation or motion graphics skills (optional, but a bonus). Qualities we value A passion for youth mental health and social impact. Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving. Ability to take initiative while also responding to briefs and feedback. A collaborative approach to teamwork and communication.

What will you be doing?

Be Free Campaign is a youth mental health charity focused on education, empowerment, and early intervention. We’re looking for a talented and experienced graphic designer and/or illustrator to volunteer their skills in creating engaging, youth-friendly visual content. This role is ideal for a professional with at least 3 years’ experience in graphic design, illustration, or visual communications who wants to use their creative talent to support a meaningful cause. You will work with our Campaigns and Marketing Officer and wider team to develop assets for both digital and print, helping us reach and inspire young people through accessible and visually compelling materials. Your work will directly support the promotion and delivery of our workshops, events, campaigns, and resources; from mental health awareness posters to social media content, toolkits, and branded event materials. This is a flexible, remote-friendly opportunity where your creativity can have a lasting and visible impact on our communications.
