About The Role

Discogs is seeking a User Experience Designer to help shape the future of its Shopping and Discography experiences. This remote role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a platform that is undergoing a major UX transformation. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating user-centric designs that enhance the experience of music lovers and record collectors. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to ensure our platform is intuitive, visually cohesive, and accessible across all touchpoints.

This is a remote position. We are accepting applications from candidates residing in OR, WA, CA, CO, TX, and IL.

Responsibilities

• Design and refine intuitive and engaging user experiences aligned with UX best practices
• Conduct UX research, develop wireframes, and create interactive prototypes in Figma
• Produce user flows, mockups, and high-fidelity visuals to guide development
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure design consistency and quality
• Participate in user testing and apply insights to continuously improve the user experience
• Ensure interfaces are visually appealing, performant, and accessible
• Contribute to and evolve the Discogs design system
• Integrate Discogs' brand identity and current UX design trends into interface design
• Engage in design reviews and iterate based on feedback
• Take a human-centered approach to problem-solving, always considering the needs of the user
• Optimize UGC content management tools and improve information architecture
• Elevate the shopping experience with modern UX principles and strategic merchandising

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in UX design or related field
• 3+ years of UX design experience with a strong, demonstrable portfolio (Figma proficiency required)
• Expertise in user-centered design, interaction design, and accessibility standards
• Strong skills in wireframing, prototyping, and visual design
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Attention to detail and a passion for creating modern, user-friendly experiences
• Familiarity with music discographies and cataloging systems is a plus
• Preferred: Experience with design systems, e-commerce platforms, or inventory tools
• Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS) is a plus
• Passion for music and knowledge of record collecting is highly valued

• Starting base salary range: $80,000 – $89,000
