The Windows Servicing Division or WSD is responsible for keeping the Windows ecosystem always up-to-date to ensure customers are protected and productive. We manage the Windows Servicing Engineering System, which applies state of the art and current technologies against both current and legacy Windows releases. The responsibility of Update Publishing Services (UPS) is to push updates and releases of Windows family of devices out to a billion+ users, both consumers and Enterprise. We’re on a mission to modernize these business-critical services and provide CI/CD capabilities that allow for agile and just-in-time updates to customers including Enterprises, End-User Clients, Azure, and the Developer community.
In support, Update Publishing Services team is seeking a highly driven Software Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of service execution and life cycle (design, development, quality assurance, production deployment, service availability & reliability, and live site monitoring). This is a complex juggling act of innovating for new business investments while keeping the daily rhythm of the business of servicing over a billion users running.
Our team is a multi-discipline team whose core responsibilities include building tools, defining workflows and designing features to manage our large-scale distributed release systems. The team provides opportunities in multiple areas of interest, spanning across operating system internals, scalable services for supporting the delivery of updates to a vast and heterogeneous ecosystem that’s constantly growing, including continuous efforts to improve internal engineering systems leveraged by the immediate team and those dependent upon services within the engineering system. WSD provides programs and services to promote development agility, experience coherence & customer engagement and fuels growth in our security business through device and cloud innovations.

Required Qualifications:
Must be legally authorized to work in Ireland (Legally authorized = Has citizenship or has been granted a valid visa or work permit).
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
Demonstrated understanding of software engineering principles such as abstraction and inversion of control, with the ability to apply them to develop testable, reliable, and maintainable code in one or more of the following languages: C#, C++/C, Python, or Java.
