Summary

We are seeking a driven and innovative Software Engineer to join our team and help us build and maintain solutions that grow our Health division. As a Software Engineer you will be challenged to work with a team in building, designing, and supporting applications that monitor the sale of products regulated by law and policy. You will have the opportunity to work with high volume applications relied on by some of the largest health systems and retailers in the nation in a remote-first position, distributed team environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, code, and debug all assigned features.
  • Work closely with your team and engineering leadership to ensure the highest standards of design, implementation, performance, and security are met.
  • Analyze application problem areas and propose solutions.
  • Plan and execute unit and functional tests as required to ensure changes meet requirements.
  • Learn and utilize new technologies, concepts, and procedures as appropriate to project requirements.
  • Continuously learning and staying updated on emerging AI, cloud, and automation technologies.
  • Collaborate with product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

What Success Looks Like…

In 3 months…

  • Build new features and enhance existing ones based on the needs of our customers.
  • Become familiar with the details of our business domain, development process, and existing code.
  • Build healthcare industry knowledge.
  • Grow understanding of metrics to meet goals.

In 6 months…

  • Participate in code reviews for peers.
  • Learn all technologies used on the development team.
  • Participate in the design process.

In 12 months…

  • Consistently deliver on all feature development expectations
  • Suggest ideas for technical enhancements.
  • Be a strong partner with the product and support teams.
  • Become an expert in all technologies used by the development team.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer related field or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of professional experience designing, coding, and testing of web applications.
  • Desire to work as a “full stack” developer, on customer facing software and web services.
  • Proficiency with HTML/CSS with the ability to build web pages that match a given design.
  • Proficiency with Java and Java frameworks (Spring Boot preferred).
  • Proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred).
  • Knowledge of SQL and fundamentals of relational database design.
  • The ability to be self-disciplined, figure out things largely on your own and complete assigned workwithout hand holding.
  • Knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of judgment and creativity in designing innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly evolving environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment, ensuring high-quality virtual interactions with minimal distractions.
