We’re on the lookout for an experienced, strategic, and creative Social Media Strategist to help drive growth and elevate our clients’ social presence across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, **while overseeing content execution from our day-to-day content manager.
This is a hybrid role:** part creative lead, part digital growth strategist. You’ll shape how a brand shows up online, help build trust and excitement, and turn early buzz into loyal community engagement.
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor, Part-time (20 hrs/week), with potential to transition to full-time
Rate: $400-800/month (based on a 20-hour workweek, depending on experience level)
Location: Remote (Philippines-based preferred)
Time Zone: UK working hours
What You'll Do:
Content Strategy & Oversight
- Review, organize, and optimize content for Instagram and TikTok to ensure it’s performance-driven and fully on-brand
- Oversee 30-day content calendars, suggest improvements, and maintain a unified voice across all platforms
- Develop rollout strategies based on trends, audience insights, and campaign goals
- Recommend which content to boost, when to promote it, and how to allocate budgets effectively
- Track and report on weekly performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth) and adjust strategies accordingly
- Maintain a consistent tone and visuals across all channels
Growth & Outreach
- Write one SEO-optimized blog post per month (500–800 words), including keyword research and backlink planning
- Monitor and update a set of core keywords monthly, suggesting new opportunities to grow organic reach
- Engage in soft promotion through forums and communities (Reddit, Mumsnet, MoneySavingExpert) in an authentic, on-brand way
- Research and connect with Facebook group admins to share giveaways, using provided scripts and guidance
- Recommend PR or guest blog placements to help drive traffic and build credibility
Creative Direction
- Work with raw video content (street interviews, product footage, etc.) to plan engaging clips
- Direct our designers and video editors to polish visuals and create assets for Reels and Shorts
- Suggest improvements (captions, music, formatting) to elevate content impact
- Collaborate on storytelling and formatting for TikTok and Instagram Reels
- Test and help shape approaches for YouTube Shorts, including running test clips and analysing results
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of working experience as a social media strategist, or similar
- A strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset
- Deep understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and short-form video growth tactics
- Confident in reviewing content calendars, refining tone, and ensuring brand consistency
- Skilled at writing captions and scripts that connect and engage
- Comfortable giving clear creative feedback or making light edits
- Data-driven: you love testing, tracking, learning, and adapting
- Familiarity with SEO, keyword research, and basic blog writing
- A proactive communicator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
