Shopify Web Developer - Dayshift/WFH

As a Web Developer (Shopify), you will be responsible for developing, customising, and maintaining our Shopify eCommerce store(s) to ensure optimal user experience, performance, and functionality. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Shopify (including Shopify Plus), a solid grasp of front-end development, and a strong understanding of conversion best practices in eCommerce.

• Design and create custom Shopify themes tailored to our business needs.
• Design, develop, and maintain custom Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Ensure the website is visually appealing and provides a positive user experience for customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, product, etc.) to align web design with business goals.
• Optimise website design for speed, usability, and mobile responsiveness.
• Conduct regular user testing and gather feedback to refine and improve website performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any front-end issues or bugs in a timely manner.
• Implement technical SEO strategies to boost website visibility and performance.
• Document development processes and user guides.
• Develop reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Implement new features, sections, and templates based on brand and UX/UI requirements.
• Optimize site performance, speed, and responsiveness across devices.
• Collaborate with the marketing and design teams to execute promotional campaigns, landing pages, and content updates.
• Integrate and configure third-party apps, APIs, and custom functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the website or integrations.
• Ensure website security, accessibility, and SEO best practices are implemented and maintained.
• Conduct QA testing and debugging across browsers and devices.
• Monitor site analytics and user behaviour to recommend and implement ongoing improvements.
• Stay up to date with Shopify updates, web trends, and eCommerce best practices.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Web Developer, with a strong portfolio of Shopify-based projects.
• Proficient in Shopify’s Liquid templating language.
• Solid experience with front-end technologies: HTML, CSS (SASS/SCSS), JavaScript (Vanilla and/or frameworks like jQuery).
• Experience customizing themes, integrating APIs, and working with Shopify apps.
• Strong understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
• Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
