Role Description

Our client, a fast-growing VC-backed startup, is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus. You'll lead the development of scalable APIs and infrastructure while collaborating on AI-powered features. This role involves working closely with the CTO and product team to build reliable systems and integrate modern AI tools. While primarily backend, you’ll occasionally support front-end delivery to ensure seamless functionality across the stack.

Tasks

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and infrastructure

  • Develop scalable, secure systems to support AI-powered product features

  • Integrate AI technologies such as LLMs, vector databases, and third-party APIs

  • Collaborate with product and design teams to define technical requirements and solutions

  • Occasionally support front-end development to ensure full feature delivery

  • Optimize system performance, reliability, and maintainability

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a full stack or backend engineer

  • 1+ year of experience working with AI technologies (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, custom ML models)

  • Strong backend experience with multiple languages such as Node.js, Python, Go, or Java

  • Proficiency in TypeScript for backend or shared codebases

  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases

  • Solid understanding of backend architecture, scalability, and system design

  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks (React, Next.js) is a plus but not required

  • Previous experience at an early-stage or venture-backed startup

  • Hands-on work with AI toolchains and frameworks in production environments

  • Agile team experience

  • Contributions to open-source projects or engineering communities
