Performativ is building the core systems behind the future of wealth management. From onboarding to trading to portfolio reporting, our backend services power complex, high-value workflows for financial institutions across Europe.

We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer based in the Philippines. You’ll work primarily with Laravel (PHP), TypeScript, Golang and Python to ship clean, well-structured, production-grade code while influencing the systems that power our entire platform.

What You’ll Do 📈

  • Design, build, and maintain services using Laravel (PHP), TypeScript (Node.js), Golang, and Python
  • Own feature delivery from start to finish including technical design, implementation, testing, observability, deployment
  • Define and evolve APIs used in trading, onboarding, portfolio tools, and integrations
  • Work with Aurora (MySQL/PostgreSQL), Redis, S3, OpenSearch and other AWS services.
  • Engineer scalable, resilient services using queues, background jobs, and event-driven patterns.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in Europe and the Philippines.

  • You work in the monolith comfortable with domain driven design and good OO design principles.
  • When relevant you'll split systems and services intentionally, understanding trade-offs in design.
  • You write code built to last that is well-tested, monitored, and structured for change.
  • You debug across systems, not just lines of code.
  • You work independently and raise risk early. You don’t wait to be told what’s broken.
  • You lead with pragmatism: business outcomes come first, but quality is never compromised
  • You embrace AI as a rubber-duck and enabler but always verify results.

You’ll Thrive If You Have 🎯

  • 7+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience.
  • Real-world experience building systems in Laravel (PHP) or other OO languages like Java.
  • Solid architecture instincts and the ability to break down complexity with clarity.
  • Strong command of SQL data modelling, API design, and distributed patterns (queues, retries, etc.).
  • Comfort working mid-shift (2PM–11PM PH) for overlap with UK/EU teams.
  • Excellent English communication: clear async writing and real-time discussion.

**Nice to Have:
**

  • Experience in fintech, trading, or multi-tenant SaaS systems.
  • Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and IaC via AWS CDK.
