Tasks

YOUR IMPACT IN THIS POSITION:

As a Senior Backend Developer (f/m/d), you will shape the architecture and development of our scalable backend systems, which efficiently process billions of building data records. You will optimize existing services, develop new solutions, and ensure that our platform remains reliable even under heavy load. In doing so, you will contribute your expertise and work closely with interdisciplinary teams.

You will take on technical leadership in the implementation of complex projects, such as the development of a new WeatherService. You will work on synchronization with Salesforce and drive the advancement of RBAC systems. Your contributions will foster innovation, ensure high code quality through automated testing and reviews, and support mid-level and junior developers. By doing so, you help us promote sustainable buildings and reduce CO₂ emissions.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • Driving Architecture: You design scalable and maintainable software architectures that ensure the long-term success of our platform and contribute your expertise to architectural decisions.

  • Executing Complex Projects: You take on technical leadership for projects such as the development of a GenAI chatbot, Salesforce synchronization, or the overhaul of our RBAC system.

  • Developing Services: You are responsible for developing new backend services and maintaining existing systems.

  • Setting Standards: You implement automated tests, conduct regular code reviews, and ensure our software meets the highest quality standards.

  • Strengthening Collaboration: You work closely with interdisciplinary teams, translate requirements into technical solutions, and support junior and mid-level developers through mentoring and technical guidance.

  • Improving Scalability: You analyze existing systems, identify optimization opportunities, and develop solutions to continuously enhance the performance and scalability of our platform.

Requirements

WHAT YOU BRING ALONG:

  • Experience & Expertise: You have at least 5 years of experience in backend development, have worked in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban), and possess strong proficiency in Python and Go or a comparable programming language.

  • Software Design & Maintainability: You apply established software design patterns to build maintainable systems that remain efficient and flexible over time.

  • Project Execution: You have experience leading and delivering large-scale projects, such as developing new services, refactoring existing systems, or integrating third-party solutions like Salesforce.

  • Code Quality & Testing: You write clean, maintainable code, emphasize automated testing, and ensure high team-wide quality through code reviews.

  • Data & APIs: You have solid knowledge of SQL and REST APIs, and you understand how to process data efficiently – experience with Kubernetes and cloud technologies is a plus

  • Teamwork: You enjoy working in a team, provide mentorship to junior and mid-level developers, and find pragmatic solutions to complex challenges.

  • Work Eligibility: You must be a resident of Germany with a valid work permit.
