### About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Software Developer to join our dynamic team supporting a major UK retail client undergoing a significant digital transformation. This client, a leading retailer in groceries and general merchandise, is evolving from a traditional retail company into a technology-driven business. As part of this transformation, we are developing new applications for multiple departments including supply chain, product lifecycle management, finance, and HR.

In this role, you will work as part of a collaborative, self-managed team in an agile environment to design, develop, and optimize high-loaded, scalable microservices and front-end features. You will be responsible for translating business needs into innovative technical solutions, ensuring performance and maintainability, and contributing to the client's goal of becoming the number one technology company in retail.

This position requires a proactive individual with a strong engineering background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for building modern, high-performance applications in a cloud environment. You will collaborate with global experts, share knowledge, and actively participate in shaping the future of retail technology.

### Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in the design and early prototyping of new features, transforming ideas into consumer-ready solutions.
  • Develop new services from scratch, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
  • Architect end-to-end features to deliver seamless customer and employee experiences.
  • Optimize performance of high-load, high-availability systems to meet demanding retail requirements.
  • Follow best practices for clean, efficient, and maintainable code, including unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
  • Participate actively in peer code reviews, sharing knowledge and ensuring quality standards.
  • Incorporate innovative trends, frameworks, and technologies to enhance development processes.
  • Collaborate within a self-managed agile team, contributing to sprints, planning, and retrospectives.
  • Work from the client’s office three days per week, fostering close collaboration and team synergy.

### Mandatory Skills and Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of professional experience in software development.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and React, with knowledge of the latest standards.
  • Experience with Redux framework for state management.
  • Familiarity with micro frontend architecture.
  • Knowledge of both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
  • Experience with testing methodologies including unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
  • Solid understanding of design patterns, SOLID principles, and best coding practices.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in spoken English.
  • Experience working in agile environments and actively participating in peer reviews.

### Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with TDD (Test-Driven Development) and BDD (Behavior-Driven Development).
  • Familiarity with Cucumber framework.
  • Basic experience working with Azure cloud platform.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.

### Languages

  • English: B2 Upper Intermediate or higher.
  • Hindi: C1 Advanced level.
