Awareness of GenAI technology has exploded over the last 12 months. Marketers, creatives and everyday people are both excited and sometimes, a little worried. At Pencil we’ve been on the cutting edge of the AI revolution since 2018 and want to ensure we take a leadership position in communicating a clear and optimistic view on how AI will change the way marketing works.

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager who will oversee our day-to-day marketing activities - including our weekly email newsletter, daily social media posts and paid ads. You’ll need to develop a content calendar, work closely with our content writer to develop master content and then version and serialize it across channels and over time. You’ll also be responsible for reporting on its effectiveness in terms of website traffic, product signups and sales calls booked. This comes with a few exciting challenges. AI can be technical and there’s a need to simplify how we talk about it and make it fun. There’s a lot of AI noise out there so we always want to produce content that’s valuable. And finally, we are literally a content generation platform - so we need to dogfood our technology and use it everywhere we can in our own marketing.

You will need a clear understanding of what GenAI can do for marketers, and flair in how to bring this to life in emails and social posts. Doing this successfully will deliver clarity for our prospects and revenue growth for Pencil and our partners, as well as make you one of the leading voices of the GenAI revolution.

Your day-to-day

  • Establishing repeatable content “series” that we can produce consistently at high quality
  • Developing a monthly content calendar with weekly emails and daily social posts
  • Getting hands on creating written, image and video content for emails, Meta, LinkedIn & TikTok
  • Running simple campaigns on Google ads and Meta ads
  • Measuring the impact of each piece of content on web traffic, product signups and sales calls

Your responsibilities

Your KPIs will be linked to the following:

  • Consistency in meeting the monthly, weekly & daily cadence of the content calendar
  • Quality of the content produced as reflected in open and engagement rates
  • Product signups and sales bookings per $ of marketing investment

Your qualifications

  • Have 3+ years in SaaS, agency or AI marketing
  • Experience creating content for email newsletters, TikTok, LinkedIn ideal
  • Experience measuring the effectiveness of marketing using URL tags in Google Analytics
  • A portfolio of successful marketing campaigns and content
  • Experience managing a 6-figure marketing budget
  • Experience collaborating with content teams and business leadership
