Role Summary

Strong, impactful and influential content crafted for our audiences is key to our mission.

We are seeking a Junior Content Editor to join our busy, expert and adaptable Editorial team of five, who look after multiple strategy, policy and delivery teams in more than 20 countries around the world. You’ll have a strong foundation in editing and be looking to make your next career move. The Junior Content Editor will work closely with the Editorial team to deliver the Institute’s ambitious pipeline and to ensure the editorial quality and rigour of all written output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the administrative elements of day-to-day editorial processes, including fielding incoming requests for editorial support, updating workflow trackers, scheduling meetings, and drafting and updating staff biographies for the website
  • Proofreading a range content products before they are released, including video subtitles, event invitations, marketing brochures, web copy, and short- and long-form publications
  • Copyediting short-form content for the website and other assets including email marketing, presentations, staff bios and video subtitles
  • Managing feedback from internal stakeholders
  • Participating in planning and team meetings, representing the Editorial team
  • Liaising with the broader Communications team to ensure alignment, including project managers, designers, and social media and email marketing experts
  • Due to the nature of the role, some additional hours outside of core business hours could be required.

Person Specification

  • Editorial experience required, including copyediting. While multiple editorial internships will be considered, we would prefer a candidate who has had at least one professional role
  • Excellent attention to detail, including a competent grasp of grammar and strong proofreading skills
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to track multiple projects simultaneously and dynamically prioritise across workstreams
  • Fluency with content-management systems, workflow-management tools and digital publishing
  • Strong IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and strong curiosity about integrating artificial intelligence into daily work
  • Good communication skills and a professional outlook
  • A proactive, flexible, can-do attitude
  • Enthusiasm to learn from our expert team to develop advanced editorial skillset, with ambition to build career as an editor
