We are looking for an Graphic Designer for our retail client. It will be a 3-month engagement, roughly 25 hours a week with a possibility for extension to Full Time hours. The engagement is slated to start in the middle of April. It will be a hybrid role in Portland, OR with some flexibility. This role will focus on the creation of original patterns, prints, and graphics for a wide range of home products, spanning textiles to seasonal items. The ideal candidate will have a design background in apparel, home or interiors.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and create original and innovative patterns, prints, and graphics for various home product categories
  • Develop artwork from initial concept through to final production-ready files.
  • Collaborate closely with the Art Director/Designer and other team members to understand design briefs, project goals, and target aesthetics.
  • Maintain a high level of artwork output while ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Manage and organize design files effectively.
  • Stay current with design trends, techniques, and software advancements relevant to the home goods market.
  • Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks while also being a collaborative team player.

Experience

  • Proven experience in print, pattern, and graphic design.
  • Experience within the Home or Apparel industries is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to balance high artwork output with attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent ability to work independently and proactively.
  • A portfolio showcasing relevant design work, particularly in pattern and print

The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $ 28.00 to $ 38.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location. Additional benefits offered may include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in a 401k plan with company match.
