About the AI Incubator Team

At the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, our brand new AI Incubator team is on a mission to reinvent government leadership and revolutionize public services through cutting-edge AI solutions. We operate at two critical levels: developing transformative AI systems for government service delivery, while also providing data-driven insights directly to world leaders.

Our team rapidly prototypes, develops, and delivers AI solutions that enhance government leaders' ability to make evidence-based decisions. Our fast-response data science unit stands ready to tackle urgent analytical challenges on matters of state, providing crucial insights when they're needed most.

Working in partnership with global leaders and policymakers, this team operates at the intersection of technology and governance, creating innovative solutions that measurably improve lives. As part of the team, you'll help establish new standards for responsible, effective AI deployment in the public sector while contributing to work with immediate, real-world impact.

The Role

  • Lead and deliver frontend development in the team, setting standards for frontend development and building capability in the team.
  • Suggest accessible, appealing design solutions.
  • Lead projects and manage the work of others in the team.
  • Work with product managers and stakeholders to understand user needs and translate these into technical solutions.
  • Work flexibly to support changing priorities.

Implement intuitive user interfaces for AI-powered applications that enhance public service delivery.

Collaborate with AI engineers to effectively integrate frontend components with backend AI services.

About You

  • Experienced frontend developer with strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Knowledge of modern frontend frameworks and libraries (React, Vue, Angular, etc.).
  • Experience writing clean, maintainable code and tests.
  • Development experience with UI design system libraries.
  • Ability to write accessible code following a progressive enhancement approach.
  • Strong capability to translate user needs into requirements.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior developers.
  • Proactive in learning new skills and upskilling others.
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience with version control systems and collaborative development workflows.
  • Ability to optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Understanding of the unique user experience considerations when designing interfaces for AI applications.
