Position: Frontend Developer

Job Type: Full-Time, Remote

Location: Philippines or South Africa

Working Hours: Full-time with overlap during 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Central Time (CT)

Salary Range: $1,000–$1,300/month

Type of Contract: Independent Contractor

About the Role:

We’re seeking a highly skilled and proactive frontend developer to help build the user interface of a new social media-style SaaS platform. You’ll work closely with the founder and UI/UX designer to bring intuitive and responsive designs to life. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys early-stage development, has strong visual implementation skills, and wants to make a direct impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain user-facing features using React / Next.js or Flutter.
• Collaborate with the UI/UX designer to implement responsive and accessible interfaces.
• Integrate frontend components with backend APIs and ensure seamless functionality.
• Participate in daily Zoom standups, weekly sprint planning, and async updates via Slack and Notion.
• Proactively suggest UI/UX improvements and optimize performance.
• Occasionally handle urgent hotfixes on weekends if critical issues arise.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in frontend development, preferably in high-traffic consumer or social platforms.
• Strong proficiency in React / Next.js or Flutter.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and modern frontend build and deployment practices.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal), with excellent communication skills.
• Able to work independently and thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Must be located in the Philippines or South Africa and available to work during CT hours.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience working with real-time UI features (feeds, notifications).
• Previous experience launching early-stage SaaS products.
