To support our mission, we are seeking a Front-End Developer who will create intuitive interfaces for our transcription editing platform.

Role Overview

As the Front-End Developer, you will develop and optimize our user-facing applications, creating seamless experiences for both our internal editing teams and external clients. This is a hands-on role for an experienced developer who can translate complex workflows into intuitive interfaces, optimize for performance across devices, and iterate quickly based on user feedback. You will transform Figma designs into high-quality React components while ensuring optimal performance and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities

1. Front-End Development

• Develop responsive, accessible web applications using React
• Build intuitive interfaces for transcription editing workflows and audio visualization
• Implement collaboration features for our human-in-the-loop editing platform
• Create reusable, configurable component libraries and maintain front-end architecture
• Translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect React components

2. User Experience Implementation

• Collaborate with UX designers to implement user-friendly interfaces
• Develop accessible, responsive designs that work across multiple platforms
• Create intuitive audio playback and text editing interfaces
• Implement data visualization components for quality metrics dashboards
• Ensure proper implementation of design system and UI consistency

3. Integration & Performance

• Integrate front-end applications with back-end APIs and AI services
• Optimize application performance, eliminate unnecessary re-rendering
• Implement efficient state management for transcription editing workflows
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design
• Implement lazy loading of images, modules, and routes

4. Quality Assurance

• Develop test suites for front-end components and user flows
• Implement automated testing strategies
• Conduct performance testing for transcription editing interfaces
• Ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG, WAI-ARIA) across user interfaces

5. CI/CD & Version Control

• Work with Docker for containerization
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline implementation
• Use Git for version control and collaborative development
• Contribute to continuous integration practices

Who You Are

• You have built front-end applications for workflow tools using React
• You have experience translating Figma designs into functional components
• You are a hands-on developer who writes clean, maintainable code
• You understand how your work impacts user experience
• You thrive in a fast-moving environment and adapt to changing requirements

Required Qualifications

1. Technical Skills

• 5+ years of experience in front-end development with React
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, SASS/LESS, and responsive design
• Experience with state management solutions (Redux, Context API)
• Familiarity with build tools like Webpack, Vite, or similar
• Experience with TypeScript
• Knowledge of front-end testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library)
• Experience working with RESTful APIs
• Proficiency in converting Figma designs to React components
• Experience with Git version control

2. Relevant Experience

• History of building interactive web applications
• Experience developing interfaces for content creation or editing tools
• Familiarity with audio/video playback in web applications
• Track record of implementing responsive designs
• Experience with real-time collaboration features
• Previous work on accessibility compliance and WAI-ARIA implementation
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Firebase, or similar)

3. Soft Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detai
• lSelf-motivated with ability to work independently
• Collaborative mindset with experience in cross-functional teams
• Adaptability to changing requirements in a startup environment
• Comfort with asynchronous communication

Working Arrangements

• 100% remote, full-time position
• Collaboration across global time zones (some overlap with Australia/APAC hours required)
• Project management through Notion/Monday.com, communication via Slack, and code repositories on GitHub
