About Wellness Equity Alliance (WEA)

Wellness Equity Alliance is a national coalition of population and public health leaders committed to transforming public healthcare delivery. We work alongside historically marginalized communities to remove access barriers, expand care models, and reimagine how health systems can serve people more equitably—on the street, in schools, and across rural and urban neighborhoods.

Position Overview

WEA is seeking a creative, motivated, and mission-driven Marketing & Communications Intern to join our team. Reporting directly to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the intern will support brand storytelling and visibility across digital platforms. This role is ideal for a student or early-career professional looking to gain real-world experience in public health communications, with a focus on visual and written content development, social media strategy, and website updates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of visual and written content for social media, email, print, and web platforms
  • Support social media scheduling, engagement, and analytics across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, etc.)
  • Help update and maintain WEA’s website using Squarespace, ensuring content is fresh, relevant, and accessible
  • Collaborate on campaign development and digital storytelling to highlight programs, initiatives, and impact
  • Assist with the creation of marketing materials and toolkits to support field teams and partners
  • Contribute to internal communications and brand consistency efforts
  • Conduct light research and gather assets to support campaigns and executive communications

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for visual storytelling
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva
  • Experience using Squarespace or similar web content management systems
  • Passion for public health, health equity, and community impact
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Time Commitment
