We are looking for a Designer to write, review, and validate prompt-based questions designed to train AI.
Your expertise in visual systems, user experiences, spatial or instructional design, or creative strategy will ensure each prompt and response reflects real-world design process thinking, visual literacy, and communication clarity. You’ll help shape how AI understands and simulates multi-modal design workflows across industries—from education and retail to architecture, tech, or culture.
You are a good fit if you:
- Have over 3+ years of experience in specialized field such as instructional design, exhibit design, service design, environmental design, or experience design
- Have a bachelor's degree in design, architecture, education, industrial design, interaction design, or a related field
- Are currently based in the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada
- Have a strong background in areas such as such as developing instructional systems, planning physical spaces or experiences, designing service touchpoints, prototyping user flows, or creating interactive or learning environments
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Have strong attention to details
Role Highlights
- Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.
- Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your own schedule.
- Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.
Role Start Date
- This role will begin in mid to late-July with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
Interview Process
- You will take an AI interview where you will be asked questions about your background in creative workflows, user experience planning, and systemic design thinking
- You will share your screen and write a detailed prompt to generate an AI response about a design scenario.
- You will evaluate and compare LLM outputs to determine which response is more effective and accurate.
- Applicants will be selected based on their performance in the AI interview and on the accuracy and quality of their evaluations.
Compensation and Legal Details
- You will be legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor
- We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect
