Functional Responsibilities:
- Produce a portfolio of products, designs, graphics, infographics, illustrations, templates and materials (print, electronic, web-based, new media), based on ETP needs and respecting ETP Communications and Branding guidelines;
- Develop clear and impactful visuals (graphics, charts, illustrations, infographics, maps) based on quantitative data and written content;
- Recommend and apply consistent design styles, layouts and color palettes;
- Ensure the visuals support and enhance the readability of documents for diverse audiences;
- Support the editing and formatting of existing documents for both print and digital publication, optimising layout for readability, and be able to guide printers/publishers as needed;
- Create visuals for social media, events and other promotional channels;
- Work collaboratively with ETP staff to discuss requirements; develop and refine design option based on feedback;
- Perform other related graphic design tasks, as needs arise.
Education/Experience/Language requirements:
Education:
- Minimum advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) or higher degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Multimedia Arts, Communications, or other related fields is required.
- A first university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in the above-mentioned fields with two (2) additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree or higher degrees.
Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in the fields of graphic design, multimedia, visual arts is required.
- Experience of graphic production from start to published/printed product is required.
Language requirements:
- Fluency in written and oral English required.
- Knowledge of another official UNOPS language is an asset.
Specific requirements:
- Access to and proficiency in design software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign, is required. Software subscription fees are excluded from the contract.
- Familiarity with Canva or similar editing software is desirable.
- Good knowledge of Google-suite applications is an asset.
- As part of the application, the candidate must submit a portfolio sample of at least three (3) completed works (report design, charts, infographics, brochures, etc.).
