Brand & Graphic Designer
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 30-minute unpaid break | Sydney (Australian Eastern Time)
Paid hours per week: 40 hours
Core Functions
Design Complete Brand Identities (30%)
following supplied direction/inspiration (Logos, Color Palette, Font Suite + additional elements)
- Concepts align with creative brief;
- feedback is actioned with minimal rounds
- Initiative to add own creative flair where appropriate & beneficial to client result
Applying Established Client Branding to assets & materials (25%)
- within client brand guidelines
- onto social posts, signage, stationery, etc.
- Follows specifications of brief
Creating Document Designs & Templates (20%)
- Set up in Canva and/or InDesign
- in the client brand style
- Accurate execution of brand guidelines onto Branded docs delivered ready-to-use (e.g., workbooks, email signatures, proposals)
- Follows the specifications of the brief
- If template, consistent paragraph styling, etc, applied
Preparing Mockups & Presentation Materials (15%)
- Applying brand to a range of mockups & presenting in a stylish and brand-specific way
- Brand presentations/mockups delivered on schedule and client-ready
- Free from spelling errors
- Styling consistent with Barge Style for client-facing presentation
Internal Design Support (10%)
- (social posts, barge visuals, portfolio updates, internal document creation etc.)
- # of Templates or graphics created weekly/monthly
- Consistent with Barge brand style
Requirements
- Intermediate to Advanced design principles – spacing, alignment, contrast, hierarchy (no “random font in the middle of the page” moments please)
- Typesetting & typography styling
- Stationery + document design utilizing design grid layouts
- Highly capable in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign (& Photoshop - less crucial)
- Creative and confident to take initiative or provide feedback on ideas if there is an opportunity to improve something
- Great file hygiene – clear naming conventions, neatly organized folders, that kind of thing
- Strong attention to detail – can follow a clear brief /on schedule/detail perfectionist
- Familiar with Google Drive, Dropbox, Gmail, and basic project management tools
- Canva Pro fluency (bonus if they’ve worked with brand kits/templates before)
- Can follow instructions (ie, file naming, folder structure, design specifications)

- Comfortable formatting and tidying Google Docs/Slides
- Photoshop ability
